Advanced lectures from National Interschool Chess

Written by David Cordover on 3rd Dec, 2009

One of the best aspects of the National Interschool Chess Championships is the chess coaching the kids received from accredited coaches.

After every game the players would sit down with a coach and go through the moves they played with the coach providing advice and insight along the way. This is one of the best ways of improving because the advice is specific to the mistakes you just made and being your own game you are emotionally involved so more likely to retain the knowledge.

There were also lectures on more general topics which were aimed at particular ability levels.
