Why bother?
Sometimes it can be a battle to get a chess program started at a school, but if we can make a positive impact on just one child then all the effort has been worthwhile.
Hi David,
Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for bringing chess to our school. My son is one of the youngest in prep class this year. Before he joined chess club, he struggled at school. We even had a conversation with his teacher considering keeping him back a year to repeat prep. This was not a desirable solution for us but he clearly was behind. Since he has started playing chess with Chess Kids, I am so delighted at his progress not just with chess but also with reading, sounds and numbers, so an extra year is no longer needed. We have not done anything different but added chess to his regular routine and I attribute his academic progress to the ability to develop logical thinking and concentration though a fun and engaging environment of playing chess. Again -many thanks
Kind regards,

This is why we do it

Bye for now Claire.
Congratulations, what a fantastic achievement. I thoroughly enjoyed today, the professionalism of your team, the dress code was great and easily identifiable. The team were very effective in resolving issues quickly and quietly. I was shocked to see so many children, parents, teachers all in one spot and the various displays that you had for everyone it truly was amazing. Well done David I think I feel totally rejuvenated in relation to the chess scene.
Thanks once again for a lovely noisy day.

Dear David,
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity for the students that you organised. I know there must have been considerable time and effort given by yourself to have such a success event! Congratulations.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day, albeit they were very nervous at the start of the day. It was certainly worth the effort and cost to get there. Hopefully we will be back next year.
Once again, many thanks.
Kind regards,

It’s always nice to get positive feedback. Even better when it is unsolicited. We make sure Emma knows that her efforts are appreciated – not just by the customer, but by everyone in Chess Kids. Thanks Emma.
Hi David,
I just wanted to pass on some feedback to you.
Our family came into your shop on Saturday the 15th of August and were looked after by an absolutely delightful colleague/employee of your firm.
We could all tell that she was passionate about the game and took a genuine interest in making sure we went away with exactly what we were looking for. She also gave us some information on the RJ Shield competition for our 9 year old.
It was a pleasurable purchasing experience and we look forward to many years of enjoyment of our new chess set.
Kind regards,

We are absolutely thrilled with the way the children are responding to Matthew and his Chess club and Chess lessons.
He manages some particularly challenging chn v well indeed.
The teachers are so impressed with the way Matthew captures the attention of all the class.
The school as a whole is v pleased with Chess playing such a positive role in capturing the interest of the chn and aiding in the behavioural and intellectual development of the students.
We have organised for Matthew to be with Yr 4/5 from x to y in Term 4.
We would like to extend that for another 4 weeks in Term 4 for Year 4/5 class.

Thank you to the organisers of the competition at Endeavour Hills Secondary College held today (5th August).
Our students from Fountain Gate Secondary College enjoyed the challenge of playing students from other schools; I’m sure they learnt a good deal about chess and more importantly sportsmanship.
Again, thank you,
Yours sincerely,
Anne Damon
